Since 2001 I have been working hard to excel at the craft of shearing sheep. In 2008 I decided to go into sheep shearing as a full time job and I have never looked back.  I bring 15 years of on the job experience handling sheep, skirting fleeces, sharing ideas and connecting with shepherds all over the mid-Atlantic region and around the world.

My husband, Kevin, has been shearing 28 years. He has shorn around the world including Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, and Ireland. He now focuses on the Midwest, and New Mexico but he comes out for several weeks in the spring and fall to assist in the East and we are always eager to take on more work and larger jobs to keep him busy.

I smell their wooly stink all day
And I hear them in my sleep;
Oh, I never knew what misery was,
Till I started herding sheep.

Its nice enough to tell the kids.
Of the big old horny ram,
The gentle soft-eyed mother ewe,
And the wooly little lamb.

It’s nice to have your mutton chops,
And your woolen cloths to wear,
But you never stop to give a thought
To the man that put them there.
